When you are about to make your bank transaction, you are required to select your transfer mode, wither through IMPS or NEFT. To select the right option, you need to know the difference between the two.

IMPS is an acronym for Immediate Payment Service and as the name suggests, when you use IMPS, the beneficiary receives the payment immediately and this service is available for immediate payment delivery round the clock, that is, anyday, anytime. IMPS is provided only via the internet.

IMPS Transaction Limits

The minimum you can transfer via IMPS is Rs. 1 and maximum is Rs. 2 lakh. Transfer charges vary and are usually reviewed but you can expect up to Rs. 2.50 charge for a Rs. 10,000 transfer and a Rs. 15 charge for Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh

IMPS is always available, even during off-working hours and holidays, allowing a fund transfer all year round. IMPS is only available on the internet, i.e. online banking.

NEFT is an acronym for National Electronic Funds Transfer and is the system that banks in Indian use to transfer money electronically to other banks. In this system, funds transferred are not immediately available.

NEFT works both online and offline.

NEFT Transaction Limits

The minimum transfer limit is Rs. 1 and there is no maximum limit. Transfer charges incurred for a Rs. 10,000 transaction is Rs. 2.50 and the charge for Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh is Rs. 15

Idea Money Load

It is so easy to load money into your idea money account. To load money, just enter your mobile number and the amount you want to load.

Note that if you load money from your debit/credit card or net banking or if money is loaded from other wallets, you won’t be able to transfer the money to your bank accounts for the next 72 hours.

You can also split bills with your friend which is a very attractive feature in the app. To use this option, visit the “My Requests” tab:
